Davita Sharabidze's new song by Shentvis Viknebi (“I Will Live for You”) is dedicated to the artist’s homeland - Tbilisi
At first, a slow, melodic melody gains momentum with each verse and as a result translates into a life-affirming, funny and dance song. It is performed in Georgian, but we asked the musician to tell us about what is sung in it ...
“I really miss my native land and often express it through my work,” says Davit, “I believe that civilization begins with the Caucasus. His powerful energy gives birth to great people, outstanding. But at the same time kind, sympathetic. In Georgia, I especially observe this. There are no differences in religion or skin color. This wonderful people has generated so many smart, outstanding in various fields, successful people, that it is impossible not to be proud of it!
And I want to convey with this composition that it is better to live on the land where you were born. Because everything is there for you: the native walls heal both the body and the soul, and you are saturated with what surrounds you. Even plain water is healing for you. And you yourself are a large part of this land. My advice is to do everything in order to stay and live in your native land. To be faithful to the Motherland is not to yell about her with beautiful words on every corner, playing out patriotism, but to love her, in the purest sense of the word, with soul and heart. Such love will not push anyone to murder or other crime. On the contrary, it will encourage you to be worthy of your native land. When they love you, they will love your homeland. And then no stereotypes that society is so prone to will complicate our lives! ”
