Last year, the State Folk Song and Dance Ensemble of Adygea "Islamey" celebrated its 25 anniversary with a big concert in Nalchik.
Heartfelt folk compositions and colorful choreographic performances made this evening unforgettable for the guests, fans of the legendary ensemble, which, according to Aslan Nekhai, the artistic director of the ensemble, has no analogues in Russia:
“We sing the folk songs of our ancestors, which no one else sings anywhere else. From these songs we learn our history as we lived before, thousands of years ago. Therefore, our music is a bit complicated, but through it, through the developed drama, we can really tell today about our people and about each person. ”
The concert program was soulful and eventful, and one of the brightest moments was the performance of the composition “Night Thoughts” by composer Aslan Nekhay. This is a poem for orchestra, choir and soloists, the main idea of which is the collision of two worlds: good and evil. This is a reflection on eternity, love, life and death, a search for an answer to the most important question: “Why was life given to man?”
