“The composition was written a year ago,” says the performer, “I was flying on a plane and leafing through a magazine where an article about Amy Johnson was published. She was the first woman in the world to fly solo from England to Australia and took part in the world's first one-day flight from London to Moscow.
Amy Johnson died in 1941 while transporting a military aircraft under mysterious circumstances. Her plane crashed into the North Sea.
The story of a young pilot amazed me from start to finish, and was the reason for writing Amy.
