By Decree of the President of Russia, Makka Mezhieva, a singer of the music publishing house "Zvuk-M", was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of the Russian Federation".
The performer, beloved in Russia and beyond, has been awarded such high recognition for her contribution to the development of culture and art and many years of fruitful creative work for the benefit of Russia. Earlier, Makka Mezhieva had already become an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, an Honored and People's Artist of the Chechen Republic, and a People's Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia.
The award was presented to Makka Mezhieva personally by the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
Makka Mezhieva was born in Chechnya on November 3, 1967. Music accompanied the girl from an early age and took the main place in her biography. She grew up in a family where everyone loved to sing. The Mezhievs even had an ensemble in which everyone sang vocal parts or played an instrument. Makka has two sisters and a brother, with whom the girl shared her creative searches and created experimental improvisations.
While studying at school, Makka became a participant in a professional republican amateur competition, which was held in Grozny. The young artist won 1st place, proving her outstanding vocal abilities. The girl was 16 years old when she was awarded a diploma on stage in the presence of other performers as the best singer of folk songs of the Caucasus.
Today Makka Mezhieva is known in Russia for performing such works as "Bertakh Hilar", "My Queen", "Yakhna Khan", "Ma Zama Khir Yar", "Da Nana" and other compositions based on love, humanity, peacefulness and harmony of feelings. The singer's work all these years has been aimed primarily at affirming family and universal human values, glorifying the forces of goodness, love and patriotism.
