— It’s always interesting to know how the idea of a composition was born?
— The history of this song is very interesting. The first lines originated in the head of the author, Eldar Bagirov, when he was going on vacation to a ski resort. Then he called me and offered to create a composition in the disco style, like the 80s and 90s. “Thälmann, she will definitely be a hit,” he told me then. I was inspired by the idea. As a result, “Silent Film” became something new in my work.
The style of the song is close to European, reminiscent of the singles of the 80s, 90s, but at the same time, the composition contains something creative, fashionable, and relevant. In addition, in terms of semantic meaning, it is very interesting.
— This is not your first project with Eldar Bagirov?
- Yes, he wrote for me “Over the Roofs of Venice”, “Why?”, “Blind Love”, “Babe”, which I performed in a duet with Arslan Egoeast.
Eldar is a very smart and talented, creative person. I like that he keeps up with the times and takes a very responsible attitude to his work. And today we are presenting a new joint project, which, I hope, everyone will like.
— The song was presented along with a video. Tell us about the filming, please. Who is the director of the video?
— Both of us: me and videographer Magomed Daudov @videograf_magomed_daudov. There are no large-scale staged shots in the video and there are only 2 locations. I deliberately chose such a simplified script format for the audience so that they would feel the essence of the words of the song.
According to the plot, the main character confesses his love to a girl, but she, like an ice queen, does not pay attention to him. The heroine of the video @mariko.meow fit into the character well and played her role perfectly.
— What would you like to say to listeners on the day of the premiere?
“I want to say: don’t judge strictly. I do all this so that, first of all, you like my songs. I wish everyone a good mood, good luck, kindness, and please, when listening to the song “Silent Movie,” put on headphones, or turn it on at full volume in the car!
