As part of the Star Breakfast program on Radio Chanson Sultan Laguchev shared the history of the creation of the legendary track:
“Vladimir Semyonovich Vysotsky wrote this song, inspired by the stories of mountain climber Leonid Yeniseev. While on the slopes of the Caucasus, Vysotsky asked Leonid a question: “Why do you go to the mountains?” Leonid’s answer was piercing: “To test who I am and what those next to me are capable of.”
These words formed the basis of the song, becoming a reflection of a deep understanding of human nature.”
For the first time, Vysotsky performed the composition, which later became famous, in the film “Height,” which was filmed in the North Caucasus. It was this song that was suggested to the Sultan by the son of Vladimir Vysotsky, Nikita Vladimirovich Vysotsky, who heads the artistic council of the “Own Track” project.
