The ethnic album with traditional Adyg-Abkhaz melodies included 6 folk compositions in the author's treatment, created from 2005 to 2010 year. The album got its name in honor of the traditional Adyghe dance game.
“In ancient times, it was primarily of a ritual nature,” explains group member Kazbek Balkarov, “gradually this game became more and more akin to a carnival event, but invariably enjoyed great respect. During the entire duration of the jagu (and it could last for several days), a special order and etiquette reigned within it.
As for the compositions included in the album, their value is that they have existed for at least 200 years. Many of them are archaic. We have been playing these tracks since the band’s founding. Our goal is to create interesting, time-consuming music, modern and clear to any generations and peoples. So that it has deep traditional roots, but at the same time it is directed to the future. ”
